I wonder how long distance I can have between the projector and the computer with a monitorcable. I tried S-vga - but I do not like the quality, the picture is not sharp.

We have about 30 m between computer and projector.

We use a VGA to Cat5 extender box set.

Available from http://www.cpc.co.uk for around £70

This allows for us to do 100metres of length without degrading the picture.

Otherwise 10metres without any enhancement is the max you should go for.

With a high quality cable, you can go up to 30 metres without a booster. The only problem is the price, somwhere around 200 euro.
If you use a booster, you can have a cable lenght up to 150 metres, but the cable will be very expensive, aprox. 600 euro, so that's really not an alternative.

I would buy a HQ cable if the distance is less than 30 metres and a cat 5 extender if the distance is greater than 30 metres.
