I can't get my dual view working!
My laptop is a dell latitude cpx with a ati mobility m1 video adapter. On one of the forum pages I'm sure it says it does support dual view. I'm running WinXp and can't seem to get it working. I've tried updating video drivers and bios program. Can you suggest anything else that could fix the problem. Thanks for the awesome program! :D

Several ways to get this working.

In display settings you need to slect the extended desktop mode.

Also sometimes a boot with all devices connected will fix this.

I have a dell Latitude D505 and this has an intel chipset which you have to do a right hand click on the desktop and the select "Graphics options" >> "Output to" >> "Extended Desktop" then it all works correctly.

I don't know if this would be the same on your dell with the ATI graphics.

It may be something you can ask Dell support they are usually very helpful.

When i right click the option doesn't come up. I have never seen the extend desktop option. not even sure it this ati mobility M1 supports dual view or what the problem could be. How do i boot with all devices active? Not sure about the support from dell cause can't find it on their site and the M1 is discontinued.

Thanks for the help

or this may help

Extended desktop is what you need.

But you must have the projector/Plasma powered up at boot to work correctly.

Then it will come on the same as desktop 1 then in display properties you should be able to click extended desktop.

My old Compaq had an ATI card in and was a devil to get it working.

right i have a sony vaio notebook with the same ati mobility m1 adaptor. I have to do two things to get the dual screen to work.
1. reboot the laptop with the projector turned on and plugged in.
2. after reboot, goto display properties (right click desktop, click properties, in the scection where you change resolution and colour depth there should be 2 blue squares numberes 1 and 2), right click the second screen and click attached.

Tada i have dual screen.
Hope its as simple for you.
