Buying a new laptop

Postby York Pilson » Wed Dec 22, 2004 1:11 pm

My church is going to get its own equipment for our praise and worship service, instead of cobbling together enough borrowed stuff to run the service. :D I would like to get some recommendations on a new laptop, under US$ 2,000. My big requirement is that it support multiple monitors. The church is going to use the computer for other ministries, so a large hard drive would also be nice. Despite some of the other members' desire to pay a bundle for some other software, I am quite happy with Zionworx, and look forward to being able to use it to its best advantage.
Merry Christmas to alll!

I have to say that I am also a bid DELL fan...

My new work laptop is a DELL Latitude D800 and it's really awesome with excellent dual monitor support and really sturdy construction.

There are many machines that would be within your budget, but I'd certainly recommend DELL for quality and multi-monitor support on WinXP...

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the input. I have had two Latitudes and they have been good machines. Right now, the d800 is priced at $1400, so it is well within the price range. The 505 is just over $1000. I will present these two to the other members of the praise and worship service.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
