Why not just video?

When video background is available the youth will probably start to use it, and the rest of us also, on spesial occasions.

What we miss today is the possibility to show plain video. At the moment we use a DVD-player, but with no TV screen the projection screen must be used for the menu browsing to start the correct part.

It would be nice to select a part and place it in my play list.

To have this is pretty important foor us too. We do use VLC which provides ALL the other multimedia requirements, but it would be great to have the ability to simply add a video (file or source) into the playlist. Two programs sometimes causes screen conflicts etc especially with the "un"intelegence of windows plug-n-play which can choose what it thinks is best, not what you want.

With no indication of v3.0 developments, I am battling to hold off the team beginning to explore alternatives with more seemeless integration of these features.
