Image - Stretch and Tile

Is it not possible to include 'Centre' as well as the above two choices. By this I mean that an image that is less than 800 x 600 will not be streched not tiled but displayed in its original size. I find distortion creeping (stretch) in with images that are less than 800 x 600. Tiling may not be desired, especially with an image of a person for example.
