How about overlay control over some visual effects

Postby pastorchico » Wed Jul 21, 2004 8:12 pm

Hello,

Any chance in either using Zionworx to overlay the words on a visual effect from an engine like winamp or better yet, a visual effects engine built in with updateable visual simulations.

Also, How does one get in on the Beta program?

Thanks

If you want to use the AVS effects in Winamp, then depending on your display card drivers you may already be able to set AVS send it's output to an overlay, setting the overlay colour and Zionworx background colour to the same one. However, unless you are an expert at writing/adapting .avs files, then I expect most of the visualisations avaliable at winamp.com would be undesirable for a majority of services and events.

As for a more generic effect engine, I think it would depend what you wanted. While Christian may be able to some basic effects to Zionworx along the lines of MediaShout and its competitors, then that may already be in version 3. I've lost track of the promised features and what Christian has actually written!

However, if you want something that is extremely flexible and then you will probably need to invest in a full video mixing setup -- and have someone with the creative and technical skills to operate it.
