Office 2010

Postby andym01480 » Sun Feb 14, 2010 6:07 pm

Ziownorx doesn't like Office 2010 Beta at all!
Is there a way of fooling Zionworx in to using the Powerpoint Viewer, so I can still use Office 2010 Beta?

If that is the December 2009 release, don't use Outlook to send emails! A bug in the product makes all small messages almost 1Mb in size. Send a few of them and you will go over your quota (or put other people over theirs) very easily.

Meanwhile, back to PowerPoint - what sort of error messages do you get?

I think that is fixed now in Outlook!

Powerpoint just locks up.
On Sunday there was an error box, which repeated itself over 50 times - don't remember it offhand. Will hook upto a projector later in the week and try to reproduce.

Is there a way of fooling Zionworx into using PPT viewer (or 2007 if I install that too?) rather than 2010 version?

How does Ziownorx work out PPT is installed? - 2010 is in a different directory to the older versions...

PPT Viewer does not come with the ability to be controlled by an external application, so no - Zionworx will not be able to use it if installed.

Of course you could use it directly, or PPT 2010 directly - both of these should work. Just no ZW integration with 2010 by the sound of it.

I have just installed Zionworx on a machine with PowerPoint 2010 (Dec beta release) and had no issues - apart from the preview screen which shows which slide is the current slide was not updating, though I was using a single monitor - that might be important.

With the released version of Office 2010, PowerPoint integration seems a lot slower - but that might be the slide decks I have open.

On opening a deck the thumbnails are made - twice. And if I have two (or more) decks loaded then every change makes a new set of thumbnails - which takes time.

Finally, the red box around the slide does not move with the slides, which I spotted with the beta version of Office 2010, but is still the case with the release version.

Other than that, it works okay.

Greeting,
Our church just upgraded to a new dell laptop with Office 2010. When I first loaded ZionWorx all seemed fine. But when powerpoint runs the slide advance was not alway predictable.
I found that PP froze when not the active window. In the end I uninstalled PP 2010 and installed PP 2007.

Chris et al,

Any chance of a fix for this please - we too are about to buy a new computer and would like it to run Office 2010 and not Office 2003 just to get the PowerPoint preview working.

Ta

Then again, I've got it working.

You need to enable "Show Presenter View" in PowerPoint 2010. Do this from "Slide Show" tab and click "Set Up Slide Show" button on the ribbon.
Under "Multiple Monitors" select Monitor 2 and check Show Presenter View

After that it all works.

Note, this was not needed for PowerPoint 2007 or earlier, but is needed for the same functionality in Zionworx with PPT 2010 that was available in PPT 2003/2007 etc.
