I have used one of the built in photos and tried to give it a custom margin
I have used Lakesunset5.jpeg
and the Custom margin is set to 46,6,8,12
this should set the words to the right of the tree.... they are but the words do not wrap down they go off the edge of the screen

Double-click the song title again in the playlist. The new margins will be picked up.

I have the same problem, when I change the margins it does not have any effect.
I tried it on two computers, on one of them it never worked, on the other it worked first, but after changing the margins a few times, it somehow got stuck at the standard margin. selecting other songs or restarting the program does not help. Any other advice?

Margins are stored in 3 places:
* The standard settings (stored in zwsettings.ini)
* The song specific settings (stored in the database)
* The background photos margins file (stored in zwmargins.ini).

Check that each of these are correct or blank. Reset the standard margins (File > Preferences > Margins), clear out the song specific formatting (add song to playlist, select song, click Database > Edit Song > select Default style and click OK. And finally select the Images tab, select your background and click the Margins icon/button and on the popup click Use Default Margins.

Ensure that both zwsettings.ini and zwmargins.ini are writable (not read only or secured with permissions), or maybe delete zwmargins.ini to start from scratch again. Could delete zwsettings.ini too, but that resets everything apart from the songs and song styles.

Thanks. Even though I could not find the files you mentioned on my harddrive, my problem is solved.

If anyone else has this problem, thats what solved it for me:

When using a custom background image, the Margin settings in the Preferences are ineffective.
Instead go to the particular image and click "set custom image margins", this will affect the current song.
save the current style as default for this song --> different custom margin can be chosen for each song.
