Zionworx Bible in other languages?

Postby Gabe » Sun Jan 27, 2008 11:23 am

Are there any upcoming projects that include translating the ZionWorx bibles? I could do this myself if I just knew how to edit the existing ones to see how it's built?

I am trying to get some working converting them from "The Sword Project"

I used Mod2Osis.exe, but when I open it in ZionWorx it gives me an error:
"Access violation at address 00644159 in module 'ZionWorx.exe'. Write address 00000028."

I am not sure why. Will keep trying when I get a chance to get back to it.

Mmmm...

This could be to do with the version of OSIS that the Mod2Osis utility is exporting.
Can you give us some more information on that?

Cheers,
Christian.

We developed the bible module based on the OSIS 2 specification (which does differ quite a bit in structure - from the OSIS 1 specification) which is probably what the mod2osis utility converts to. I know we have had some problems with other bibles that are formatted OSIS 1.

We will try and see if we can get both specifications able to be used within ZionWorx.

So if I could provide the bible texts, could anyone make a ZW bible file for me? Because honestly I'm not that skilled in programmin. =)

If it's not a copyrighted bible text then we could have a look at it and see. Email them to me at chris.clark@zionworx.org.uk

The header info from the bible created using Mod2Osis is as follows:
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<osis xmlns="http://www.bibletechnologies.net/2003/OSIS/namespace" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bibletechnologies.net/2003/OSIS/namespace osisCore.2.5.xsd">

The header info from the WEB bible from the ZionWorx download is:
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<osis xmlns="http://www.bibletechnologies.net/2003/OSIS/namespace" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bibletechnologies.net/2003/OSIS/namespace osisCore.2.0.xsd">

It doesn't seem to be fundamentally different?

Hmm, I became very glad today when I found out that biblegateway.com has swedish bible texts. I've gotta say I'm really loving this.
Too bad it doesn't have the most common bible we have here in Sweden and as for getting the text for that one (and with you guys' help make it into a ZW bible file): That'd be hard since it seems like it has alot of copyright restrictions.
Anyawy, I thank you alot for helping me, you've been great and thanks again for adding this feature. Can't wait for an integrated video player! :D

God Bless you!
