Database problem

Postby andym01480 » Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:36 pm

I've just reinstalled v2.6 and copied over the database from 2.5 on an xp pc.

Most songs are fine, but I'm having a problem with a few, including "Lord I lift your name on high"

It shows in the available song area and can be chosen for the song list using title search, keyword search or by clicking. But when double clicked in the song list area I get two errors.
The first is an alert box called "Error" saying the title couldn't be found and when that is clicked "ok" a second error comes up titled Zionworx with the phrase "List index out of bounds(0)".

I've tried rebooting, updating "Full title index" and a full reinstall.

What next guys?
BTW It cannot be edited or deleted!

I have a similar problem with one song in my database that was migrated from a v2.0 database. I think my problem stems from the fact that the song title is in brackets.

It's the same in respect to the error message and being unable to delete it from the database.

And the cause is thus not what you thought it might have been.

How can I repair the database? What format is it and are there any tools out there?

I have used TurboDB 5 for .NET.
http://www.turbodb.de/webapps/newslette ... DB5DN1.msi
The website says "The trial versions for TurboDB for .NET and TurboDB Managed work without a limit."
You can view the main tables used and make changes and delete records (you can also add fields). You will need to make a backup before you start as there is no undo, so you could lose it all!

If you download it , you probably will need to run a windows update for .NET
Also, make sure that you have made hidden files visible in windows, else you may not be able to navigate to the tables.
