Fade in / out

I've loaded v2.5.06. I loaded the single file posted on the download page, nothing else (I mention this because the purpose of the upgrade file is not clear). In version 2.0 fade in / out of the display was very smooth. In v2.5 it is stepped. In the configuration there are now options for number of steps, and timing, presumably of the steps. The end result no matter what combination I try is jagged. The change in steps does as it says on the tin. The duration doesn't seem to affect much so far as I can tell. Is this as planned? Is this time to get an even faster video card?

I have the same problem.
Make sure your background images are exactly the same resolution the projector is set to, and see if that helps.
I disabled fades on our setup as it will take a while to resize all our images to 1400x1050 - not a very standard resolution.
