Live Video during services

Postby Rkel » Sun Jul 22, 2007 11:28 pm

Hi all,
I am interested in any information on running live video during our youth service of the band on the projector screen as well as projecting the song words. I would like to know what software/ hardware is required and is it an expensive exercise.
thanks all RobK

This feature is expected as part of the next major release of ZionWorx (v3.0).
The hardware required will be any video input:
- video file
- camera input

The camera input must be a device e.g. it could be firewire or composite/s-video via a video card or a webcam.

These should be chosen as per your needs, but generally will not be very expensive. A std camera will give great image resolution compared to a normal webcam. Digital via firewire may provide other software benefits like being able to control the camera's zoom from the desktop.

We currently use an old video camera and a tv card with composite video input. We use it to display video feed to adjacent rooms using VLC (an excellent and powerful opensource media player and streamer). The TV/Video card was a R200 (less than $30)
