Powerpoint remote control

This topic might have been raised before - so apologies in advance. Has anyone a solution for remotely controlling Powerpoint through Zionworx? Our pc which runs Zionworx is approx 20m from the pulpit and everything is normally controlled from there. Occasionally we have a visiting speaker who likes to control Powerpoint themselves.

(Using Winxp & Sp2 and Powerpoint 2003)

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Ian

allthough we don't use zionworx 2.0 (we use the newer 2.5), I would also be interested to know what people use for their remote control now... our clicker doesn't work now that our speaker is more than 10m away (we've just moved the whole system to the back)

As for powerpoint, I bypass zionworx as it slows right down when you load large presentations. As long as windows is focussed on the powerpoint slideshow its self (click on it on the start bar) it works fine.

Also, maybe this thread would be better moved to the hardware section?

If you had a wireless network, you could have the visiting speaker remote control the Zionworx computer via VNC.
This is what is in our long term plan, when we eventually get a wireless network.

You need an RF mouse (or presenters clicky tool sort of thing) and not the cheaper Infra Red models.

These use radio (like a radio mike) and are unidirectional. Just need to make sure they are not on the same frequency as any radio mikes you have.

For example http://www.powerremote.com/ which came up first on a Google search. Have not used it, but $99 is more than an IR based clicker
