How to get just the Lyrics projected?

Postby Al Calame » Sat Mar 05, 2005 5:47 pm

I've been trying to set up Zionworx to use my laptop and a new NEC VT670 Projector. When I start up, and have my presentation open, when I use the function key combination to get the projector to show things, it shows the whole screen from the laptop, not just the display of the Lyrics. I've tried all sorts of things, but am getting nowhere.

The laptop is a Compaq Armada 1700 with Windows 2000 Professional and 96 MB of Ram.

Any Ideas??

How to get just the lyrics projected

Sounds like you haven't got your laptop set to dual monitor mode.
Have a look at the FAQ section.

Window 2000 does not support dual monitor mode. I believe your notebook is quite old and the chances of getting it to work is even slimmer. I have been trying to get my WIN2K notebook (Evo N400c) to support dual monitor for the last 2 years and I have not succeeded.

William,

I believe Windows 2000 does support dual screen, you may need to update your graphics drivers or get a new card that is supported for Windows 2000...

I remember setting up dual screen in Windows 2000 using a Matrox Graphics card over 3 years ago...

Peter,
Yes, I agree with you. The problem with WIN2K is that the OS has no dual screen support built in. So it depends on the manufacturer's supplied driver. Perhaps I should make this clearer. We are still installing dual headed display cards for our specialised users in my company here on WIN2K.

A card with dual headed display will definitely make it easier as the manufacturer normally supply the driver. However, if we are using notebook or laptop, the chances become very slim unless the manufacturer supplies the driver which they normally don't especially for older notebook. Therefore, I am quite sure that Armada 1700 has no driver available. Again, I may be wrong. Please check this url for any drivers: http://members.driverguide.com/index.php. Beware that the driver downloaded may crash your PC or notebook.

William,

I think I know what you mean now... ( I can't really say: 'I see what you mean' ) as I haven't seen you showing me it :-)

Just kidding...

Yes drivers can be a pain, if they corrupt your system you may have to reinstall your OS, best to make an image using Norton Ghost or something similar first, it'll save you the hassle in restoring your system in less than 15mins compared to hours of re-install... I have several images to role back to whenever I want as I do quite a bit of testing and development on my system, or when I just want to clean my system to a basic build...
