Logging in....twice!

Postby chris_h62 » Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:58 pm

Ever since the site was updated I have to log in twice before it says "Log out [chris_h62]" in the top bit of the screen. Although in the bottom of the screen, where it says Registered Users: my name still appears. Odd!

This sounds pretty trivial but it also means that the new posts don't appear in orange so I have to hunt them out myself.

Thanks,
Chris

The forum has not been changed at all,

All that used to happen was it was called up in a frame.

Make sure cookies on your PC are fine I will check that the cookies are set correctly on the forum....

It always works for me on 3 machines,

the Wifes Compaq
My work Intel machine
And the Dell Laptop (now with working screen again, warning don't bang screen hard it will break).

I need o look at a few issues like this which have seem to crop up since the new site was uploaded.....

Only 2 sections of site use PHP scripts

The Forum and Registrations(Painful script to manage took 12 months to get it working).

The forum board is due to get an update so this should fix any little bugs like this(I hope).

I hope it's not too much a pain.

Worked at school

Postby chris_h62 » Fri Jan 07, 2005 8:52 am

Hi,

I just logged on at school and it worked fine so it must be summit to do with my computer. But I haven't changed anything or deleted any cookies etc. How would I go about sorting it out if it is the cookies?

Since the last post I have tried logging on it two other different places and experienced exactly the same problem as described in the original post. HELP!

At home I'm using Win98SE and at school (which was where it worked once and not the second time) runs XP professional. I think they are both running Internet Explorer 6.0.

It was strange, the second time this evening when I logged in, it worked 1st time!

Strange!

Hi Chris and Edd,

I've been having exactly the same problem since the website change - always need to login twice, then can't see recent post list...no changes to any of my machines though - both using XP.

Strange? :?

one last thing .....

Is the URL

http://support.zionworx.org.uk

or

http://www.zionworx.org.uk/forum/

Try the second as I think it may be due to the 1st url and cookie saving.

if the second works ok I will revert the site links to the 2nd URL...

Both are the same but the cookies may be handled differently.

Cheers
Edd

Yeah, it's support.zionwrox.org.uk that gives me the problems.
If I use the old one it works absolutely fine.

Thanks
