"Poetic" appearance of lyrics

Postby York Pilson » Mon Oct 11, 2004 1:15 am

This is a newbie question, I am sure, but I have not found the answer in the other forums. When the lyrics to a song ( or text such as Bible verses) displays, it is not like this post, but almost like poetry: One line will contain several words, and the next line may only have one or two words. While I appreciate the aesthetic nature of the display, it makes it difficult to plan things like capitalization and hyphenization. What can I do to control the way the text displays? :?
TIA,

The text is controlled by where you insert new lines. So if you type the Amazing grace song like so:

"Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me;
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see."

Depending on the settings of the margins it may be displayed like:

Amazing grace! How sweet
the sound
That saved a wretch like
me;
I once was lost, but now am
found,
Was blind, but now I see.

This basically means that you need to play around with font sizes and margin settings to try and figure out the best setting for you.

You just need to remember that wherever you put a new line in when you type the song in that will be displayed in addition to the formatting that zionworx does.

Hope this helps,

Chris,
Thanks for the advice. Next Sunday the screens will look a little less poetic, but I will be able to get more on each one.
