Zionworx

Hi,

We regularly need to switch our laptop's display mode (running under XP HE) from "Extended Desktop" to "Clone Display" to display other software output other than Zionworx. If Zionworx is running when we switch to clone, then after switching back to extended desktop Zionworx will not display on the extended desktop. Trying to exit from Zionworx then causes an error message (can't remember what it is for now), and Task Manager has to be used to kill the Zionworx process.

Is there a way round this, apart from quitting Zionworx before switching display modes?

Hi Nick,

Can you let us know what graphics card you're using?
Also, just out of interest, what is the other software you are using that requires you to use the 'clone' display mode?

I'm not sure about the graphics card - I'll have to look on Sunday - but it's in a Toshiba laptop. The other software is OpenOffice - we were running a PowerPoint presentation, but we don't have Microsoft Office so can't make use of Zionworx's PowerPoint facilities. Unlike PowerPoint which can do this, OpenOffice can only display its presentation to the primary display, and not the secondary display.

Don't know if this suggestion will work...

How about you move (drag) Openoffice to the secondary display and activate presentation from there. I know of software which will display it on the primary display even if you activate it from the sec display.

If there is no animation, you may even export the slides into gif/jpg and let Zionwork display them as "background". In this case you need to create a "fake" song with no lyric.

Yes, that is a good idea too! Just press F11 and the lyric is off.
